Farewell Celebration, Earth Day Treat, & Kentucky Derby

Eagan Pointe Senior Living residents and staff showed up to a small but significant farewell celebration for one of our dedicated team members.

Jake’s last day was April 30. Everyone wished him luck on his new adventure, and we celebrated with cake and plenty of smiles.

Congratulations, Jake. We will miss you, but we wish you all the best!

For Earth Day, residents at Eagan Pointe Senior Living had a great time playing in the “mud” while creating a tasty and sugary treat.

In our Garden Coves, we made dirt cups using pudding, crushed Oreo cookies, and gummy worm candies. Residents enjoyed mixing the ingredients, with layers of deliciousness for the worms to “crawl” through.

Playing in the mud has never been so entertaining or edible. ?

The renowned Kentucky Derby takes place annually on the first Saturday of May. This year, we decided to “horse around” and get in on the fun with a Kentucky Derby Day at Eagan Pointe Senior Living.

We served mint juleps, the signature drink of the Kentucky Derby, and asked residents to dress for the occasion by wearing a fancy or fun hat.

As you can see, our attire and accessories made for an exciting afternoon.
Activity Director Nichole Stoerzinger (photo 3) got dressed up to serve mint juleps. Kitty J. and Mary Ann W. (photo 2) wore their elegant hats. Joan D. (photo 1) wore a purple shower cap because it matched her outfit. ???

Thank You Cake & Holiday Activities

Eagan Pointe recently received this beautiful cake and card as a thank you for caring for their loved ones throughout the year. We are so grateful for the kind words and for such a delicious and wonderful treat! ??

Over the past few days, Eagan Pointe Senior Living has looked more like Santa’s workshop!

Though there’s no party this year, we’ve still been spreading holiday cheer.

The Eagan Pointe Elves decorated the lobby and made it look beautiful. Cindy, Lois, and Mari Sue were some of the folks who were busy frosting cookies, which they got to take home – yum! And Caren got creative and crafty, making this adorable mini tree from a pine cone and wine cork.

Honoring Mothers at Eagan Pointe & Enjoying Homemade Egg Bake

To honor the Mothers at Eagan Pointe, we had family members send in pictures of their mothers and we created a “We Love Our Mothers” wall. ❤

Our staff served tenants of Eagan Pointe a hot breakfast of homemade egg bake, hash browns and delicious bread. 

One tenant sent along a note of gratitude:

Workiversary Congratulations and Enjoying S’mores

Eagan Pointe tenants enjoyed an evening of sunshine, bonfire, and s’mores. Many were brought back to their childhood with memories of making s’mores with their families. Everyone was enjoying the sugar rush and beautiful weather!

On of our caregivers, Alison Hellyer, received her “5 Years of Caring” name badge affixed in her favorite donut. It was presented to her at an early morning nursing meeting by Sarah Lewerer, RN. Congratulations, Alison!

Tuscany

September 5th, 2018

The residents of Eagan Pointe “traveled” to Tuscany, Italy through our Armchair Travel program. They enjoyed some trivia and shared stories of their travels to Tuscany. Residents watched a video of the history and gorgeous views of the Italian region. They also indulged in some Tuscany wine and food. The residents made their own bruschetta together to snack on while trying the different wines.

Alzheimer’s BBQ Fundraiser

August 20th, 2018

Eagan Pointe Senior Living held its 4th Annual National Night Out BBQ fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota. The Eagan Pointe department pitched in and donated a raffle basket of goodies. Residents, family members, friends, and employees all bought tickets to win the raffle baskets at the BBQ. We also enjoyed outdoor games, DJ music, bingo, and delicious food. It was a successful night for fundraising, as well as a fun evening for everyone.

S’mores

The residents of Eagan Pointe Senior Living enjoyed a wonderful night by the fire and indulged in delicious s’mores. At our fires, we always say “the s’more the merrier!”

Kitchen Tour

There’s a saying that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and we couldn’t agree more! Residents had the opportunity to go behind the scenes at Eagan Pointe Senior Living. They took a kitchen tour led by head chef, Matt Lucey. They saw where all their food is made and stored, like the walk-in cooler, and where the dishes are washed!

Hot Chocolate

December 27th, 2017

The residents of Eagan Pointe spent some time before Christmas making hot chocolate jars as last-minute gifts. They added cocoa powder, marshmallows, and peppermint candies into a decorative jar. Many residents were making them for the holiday parties they had coming up!

Holiday Party

Eagan Pointe Senior Living hosted their annual holiday party for residents and their families and friends. It was a huge success. Attendees of the party enjoyed delicious hors d’oeurves and listened to delightful holiday music. Of course, Santa made a visit.
