November Events at Eagan Pointe: Anniversaries, Halloween, and Dinosaurs

November 13th, 2021

Amy Hansen and Barb Ryan both recently celebrated their 5-year anniversaries at Eagan Pointe Senior Living. We are so thrilled and thankful to have them both contributing their talents and energy to our community. Let’s hear it for these wonderful ladies: Whoot! Whoot! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

A family member of one of our residents came to us with an idea for a flash mob. She and her Dancing Dinosaurs group dropped in at Eagan Pointe Senior Living with this entertaining and prehistoric surprise. We loved it and can’t wait for the dinosaurs to return!

Eagan Pointe Senior Living took advantage of the spook-tacular holiday and went all out for Halloween.

The Director Staff dressed up as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Sarah was Snow White; Mickey was Happy; Adrian was Bashful; Nichole was Sneezy; Bill was Doc, Matt was Dopey; Michelle was Grumpy; and Renee was Sleepy.

Barb from Dietary also dressed up in a creepy skeleton costume and posed with and even creepier doll someone left on our front door a few days prior. Scary or cursed? You decide!

We also hosted a Halloween Party Happy Hour for residents and served spooky cocktails like Jack-O-Lantern Punch, the Sloshed Pumpkin Cocktail, and the Purple People-Eater. And we served up tasty Monster Mash Mix snacks for the big turnout of attendees. πŸ‘»πŸŽƒπŸ¦‡

Lovely Thank You Note & Summer Fun

September 30th, 2021

The team at Eagan Pointe Senior Living recently received a lovely thank you that touched the hearts of all of us. It’s nice to know our work is valued and appreciated. Thank YOU, Norma, for your kind words. Your note made us all very happy – and proud to do what we do:

To all Eagan Pointe Staff, Nurses, & Health Aidesβ€”

I’m writing this letter to thank you and let you know that I appreciate everything you do for us. I know you all have difficult jobs trying to please everyone.

All your hard work is apparent in that we have no had any COVID cases for along time, and still not back in β€œlockdown.” I am enjoying the outings again.

I missed the Food Meeting, but I wanted to let you know I am so pleased with the addition of whole grain bread & raisin bread (that) has been added to breakfast. Of course, the scones are just wonderful. The fruit and breakfast variety is great.
Sincerely yours,
Norma

While the Summer Olympics in Tokyo may have ended, we continued our own Olympic Games at Eagan Pointe Senior Living and encouraged residents to Go for the Gold. And they did just that!

In our Olympic Trivia Competition (photo 1, from left): Lois K. just passed; Norma H. took home silver; Linda won gold; and Mari Sue and Kitty Y. were both awarded bronze.

Participating in the Equestrian Races (photo 2, from left around the table): Mari Sue, Linda Z., Mary Jo, Norma H., Carol S., Cindy, Charlotte, and Evelyn.

And showing off their medals (photo 3, from left): Carol scored with bronze; Mary Jo went for the gold and won; and Evelyn N. rounded out the tops with silver.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and congratulations to our Eagan Pointe Olympic Games winners! πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰

Eagan Pointe residents met up with residents from other Southview communities to attend Circus Juventas. Everyone was excited for our first big group outing since COVID, and the circus was a great place to celebrate.

The residents had a fantastic time and loved the show. Everyone was impressed at the talent displayed by these high schoolers – and amazed that they were doing all the stunts! πŸŽͺ

We recently brought a taste of the Great Minnesota Get-Together right to our Eagan Pointe community. We celebrated the MN State Fair with some devilishly delicious fried foods and a very special State Fair Punch.

We also had a contest in which residents could vote on a picture done by the Wine & Coloring group. Congratulations to our winner, Bonnie J!

At Eagan Pointe Senior Living, we like to get creative and give our residents something fun to work on or create for arts and crafts. For our Fall Craft Project, we made pumpkins from wine corks. Activities like this help improve motor functions, dexterity, and artistry – and they allow residents to get together and have fun in a social setting.

These cork pumpkin crafts helped get us all into the fall spirit! πŸ‚πŸŽƒπŸΎ

Lovely Thank You Note to our Amazing Associates

August 20th, 2021

We recently received a very kind, heartfelt message from the daughter of a former resident couple who both sadly passed away earlier this year. In her letter, she expressed her gratitude for all the amazing associates here at Eagan Pointe Senior Living:

“You make a difference! Not only for the residents but for their families as well. I will miss seeing all of you. Just know how much I loved you for your help and appreciated each and every one of you for the specialized jobs you give your hear to. I know it’s not easy, but THANK YOU for being part of my life as I cared for my parents in their final years. I’ll always be grateful to Eagan Pointe Senior Living.” – Karen J.

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful and heartwarming words, Karen. Incredible people like your parents are what make our community so amazing, and we’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know them over the last few years. They will be missed by many here at Eagan Pointe.

Summer Olympic Games & S’mores

August 4th, 2021

The Summer Olympic Games have come to Eagan Pointe!

We’ve organized 5 “Go for the Gold” activities where community members can engage in a little friendly competition and win a gold, silver, or bronze medal. The 3 events we’ve done so far include:

β€’ Olympic Dice Game: We had a tie for gold with Kitty Y. & Mari Sue H.

β€’ Noodle Ball: Contestants used noodles to hit a balloon back and forth between sides, similar to the rules and style of volleyball. The victors were team 2 (“The Sharks” with members Kitty Y & Mary Jo K.) over team 1 (“The Whales” with members Judie B., Evelyn N., and Carol S.) 2-0.

β€’ Bouncing Basket Ball: Contestants were given ping pong balls of a specific color and attempted to bounce as many into a basket as they could, and the person with the most of their color in the basket after 3 rounds was the winner. Linda Z. won gold, Bette R. silver, and Kitty Y. bronze.

Thank you to all our participants and congratulations to our winners! We still have 2 events left so there’s more to come. Good luck to all competitors in the final two games! πŸ’ͺπŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰

We were able to do our first bonfire of the season last month.

What better way to enjoy a lovely summer night than having s’mores around the fire and laughing with friends?
