St. Patrick’s Day Spirit & Retirement Celebration for Char

St. Patrick’s Day Spirit & Retirement Celebration for Char

April 9th, 2021

The St. Patrick’s Day spirit was certainly present at Eagan Pointe last month thanks to some crafty residents and thoughtful gifts from a family member.

Residents of our Garden Cove units created lovely leprechauns for fun, festive decorations. The daughter of our friend and community member, George F., also donated medical-grade surgical masks with St. Patrick’s Day prints for our staff to wear on the holiday. Thank you for the amazing and very kind gifts! Who needs lucky clovers when you’re surrounded by such incredible, caring people? ?☘

We had a bittersweet day at Eagan Pointe when we celebrated the retirement of friend and associate, Char. She was a member of our housekeeping team for nearly 4.5 years and we are so lucky to have had her as part of our community. We can’t thank her enough for all the hard work, compassion, and dedication she’s provided us over the years!

Char will be moving to Arizona in August and will be greatly missed by our associates and residents. Please join us in congratulating and wish Char a very happy retirement!

Winter Carnival & Second Vaccine Clinic

February 26th, 2021

We held our second vaccine clinic here at Eagan Pointe recently! We are so thankful, happy, and excited to have taken another big step in protecting our loved ones and getting life back to normal!

The Saint Paul Winter Carnival made it’s way to Eagan Pointe Senior Living again this year! We celebrated by hosting many fun community events, as well as challenges with prizes for the winners: The Snow King winter trivia challenge, Snow Queen’s tea bingo, a medallion hunt, a “snow and ice” sculpture challenge, a “fire and ice” happy hour, and a coronation meet-and-greet with treats honoring our Snow King and Queen. Check out photos of all the fun!

Mrs. Claus Visit & New Year’s Eve Happy Hour Cart

January 22nd, 2021

Santa had his hands full last month, but we were lucky to have Mrs. Claus stop by to visit and share gifts! In fact, she was kind enough to come by twice to ensure her Christmas cheer reached everyone at Eagan Pointe Senior Living. She visited with and delivered goodies to our Independent and Assisted Living residents one day and then came back to do the same with those members of our Garden Cove units. Thank you, Mrs. Claus! ?

While we couldn’t have a big gathering like previous years, we still had some fun to welcome in 2021 here at Eagan Pointe! We brought a New Year’s Eve happy hour cart around to each unit and served olives, cheese, crackers, and, of course, champagne. Members from our Garden Cove apartments also made New Year’s Eve party hats to show off during their sparkling cider toast that evening. We hope you all had a safe and very happy New Year! ??

Birthday and Work Anniversary Celebrations

November 23rd, 2020

One of Eagan Pointe’s residents, Millie, recently had her 100th birthday! She celebrated with a special Zoom call from friends and family, gift baskets, flowers, and, of course, yummy birthday cupcakes. Please join us in congratulating and wishing a very happy birthday to Millie! ????

Ricardo, a member of Eagan Pointe’s dietary team, celebrated his five-year work anniversary last month. We are so lucky to have you in our community, and we can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and positivity over the years. Please join us in thanking and congratulating our friend, Ricardo!

Eagan Pointe Senior Living associate, Matt, recently had his 10-year work anniversary! We celebrated with delicious gourmet cupcakes. We received a package from the company who made his commemorative 10-year anniversary jacket, but it turned out to be promotional items. We decided to make the most of it and have some fun, so we still gave it to him as a joke while we wait for the jacket. What a good sport and AMAZING team member! We appreciate you and everything you do for our community. Please join us in thanking and congratulating Matt on 10 years with Eagan Pointe! ???

The confirmation class at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church in Eagan wanted to thank and show support for the Eagan Pointe staff during these difficult times, so they surprised us with gift bags and a heartwarming message:

“We want to say THANK YOU for all of your efforts over the past several months. With COVID affecting everyone, you are truly the unsung heroes. Please enjoy these treats as our way of showing that we appreciate you. Stay safe and healthy, and God bless.” -St. Thomas Becket Confirmation Zoom Group Teens

Thank you so much for the treats and kind words!

Bringing the Halloween Spirit to Eagan Pointe

November 10th, 2020

We certainly got into the Halloween spirit here at Eagan Pointe last month! Several residents made Halloween lanterns of either Frankenstein’s monster, a ghost, or a more classic jack-o’-lantern. We also made treat bags for students at the nearby St. John Neumann Preschool. In return, they gave us handcrafted pumpkins for a pumpkin patch. And since they couldn’t join us in-person, they also sent us photos of the children all dressed up for a “costume parade.” Thank you so much for the kind, fun, and festive gifts – they’re the perfect Halloween decorations for us all to admire and enjoy!

We kept the Halloween theme rolling with a socially distanced coloring activity! Participants tapped into their artistic side while coloring a “Happy Halloween” picture, and the results were boo-tiful. Take a look! ????

Eagan Pointe’s leadership team members dressed up as pumpkins for Halloween this year. Check out how great they looked all together as a pumpkin patch! And, since Halloween is all about fun, we had to strike a pose for the traditional “silly picture!”

More Halloween fun to close out the month of October! We held a “zombie hunt” activity where residents searched for hidden “zombies” all around Eagan Pointe. The hunt was successful and the participants received yummy caramel apples as their prize.

State Fair Food Happy Hour & More Summer Fun

September 8th, 2020

With fall just around the corner, we’ve been celebrating the season change with a State Fair food happy hour and other fun summer events at Eagan Pointe.

Tenants at Eagan Pointe Senior Living recently enjoyed a Happy Hour event as well as samples of Minnesota State Fair foods.

The munchies menu included mini donuts, corn dogs, cheese curds, and deep-fried Snickers on a stick.

These tasty treats made it feel as though we were at the Great Minnesota Get-Together!

Some of the Eagan Pointe Garden Cove tenants recently marked the end of summer with a fun craft. They traced their handprints and used them to create ice cream cone art with help from our Activity Coordinator, Samantha.

Take a look and see how their projects turned out! ?

We recently had some noteworthy events at Eagan Pointe.

One of our tenants, Millie, experienced a private outdoor concert with friends. The weather was perfect, and so was the music! ?

We also celebrated Taylor’s last day with well-wishes and cake.

Memorial Day Activities

May 29th, 2020

Although this Memorial Day looked a little different for Eagan Pointe, we participated in different Memorial Day activities to remember and honor the brave souls who gave everything for our country.

The residents on the Garden Coves had a good time putting some floral decorations together for Memorial Day. Here are their red, white, and blue creations!

We also made sure to recognize the Veterans and the Veterans Wives that live here. All our residents that were either Veterans or Veterans Wives put a ribbon on their door to recognize their contribution to our country.

Thank you to all who have served and their families that supported them!

2020 Eagan Pointe Winter Carnival

February 21st, 2020

The 2020 Eagan Pointe Winter Carnival was full of fun events, including our 2nd annual puzzle race and our coronation ceremony. Check it out!

Eagan Pointe recently celebrated its 2020 Winter Carnival with several fun events! One morning, tenants were served their breakfasts by a lovely group of Saint Paul Vulcans. They made sure each tenant received their food with a mark on their cheek. Stay tuned for more posts about our 2020 Winter Carnival!

This year, we held our 2nd annual puzzle race as part of the Eagan Pointe Winter Carnival. Our 2020 winners included Nurses Sarah, Michell, and Shailla, as well as Assistant Residence Director Mickey. They finished their puzzle in just NINE minutes flat, and other participating residents weren’t far behind them! Check out their masterpieces. ?

The final event of our 2020 Winter Carnival was the coronation. We recognized our 2020 medallion hunt winner, Howard Hinseth, for finding the medallion hidden within Eagan Pointe. We also congratulated our 2020 puzzle race champions Sarah, Michelle, Mickey, and Shailla.

And lastly – for the main event, of course – we crowned our 2020 king and queen. Former queen, Donna, and a few past kings passed their crowns to our new king and queen, George Failes and Ruby Lee. A merry time was had by all, and King George and Queen Ruby are ready to take on the year as leaders at Eagan Pointe!
